Position Overview: The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for auditing Non-QM, Non-Agency, DSCR, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, and VA loans by meticulously reviewing credit, capacity, compliance, and collateral characteristics to ensure adherence to investor quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct pre-funding and post-funding quality control reviews of loan files.
Collaborate with Operations to remediate identified defects.
Communicate identified defects effectively to internal and external stakeholders.
Assist in the development of QC audit and project plans.
Serve as a subject matter expert for Quality Control inquiries.
Analyze calculations and verifications of income and assets and evaluate credit reports, purchase contracts, appraisals, title commitments, and other pertinent loan documentation.
Audit a minimum of six files per day, focusing on credit, collateral, capacity, and compliance while maintaining a 95% or higher accuracy rate.
Stay current with all agency, state, and federal guidelines, and participate in ongoing industry training.
Mentor new hires and collaborate effectively with colleagues.
Manage time efficiently and prioritize workloads to meet strict deadlines while handling multiple tasks.
Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements:
Extensive knowledge of Non-QM, Non-Agency, DSCR, FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA guidelines, federal regulatory guidelines, and TRID.
Minimum of five years of recent experience in conventional and government underwriting and/or Quality Assurance within the mortgage banking industry.
FHA Direct Endorsement.
Strong familiarity with the complete closing function: underwriting conditions to closing, closing instructions, closing procedures, and TRID.
Proficiency with AUS systems, including Loan Prospector and Desktop Underwriter.
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel.
Excellent written communication skills.
Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize workloads effectively.
College degree or equivalent work-related experience, and high school diploma or equivalency.
