Key Responsibilities:
Knowledge of investor and agency guidelines (FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA) to ensure existing required monthly reporting is complete and in compliance with guidelines (Prefunding, Post-Closing, Random, Discretionary, Adverse Action, Early Payment Default etc.
Understanding of Fair Housing regulations and lending compliance requirements.
Strong knowledge of wholesale loan origination processes and procedures.
Conduct regular audits and reviews of loan files to ensure accuracy and compliance with investor guidelines, regulatory requirements, and agency guidelines.
Assess and evaluate credit risk associated with wholesale mortgage lending activities, including loan origination and underwriting.
Establish risk tolerance levels and monitor credit exposures to ensure adherence to established risk, potential fraud, compliance issues and minimize exposure.
Identify and investigate any discrepancies or issues found during the QC process and collaborate with relevant teams to resolve them while adhering to investor and regulatory guidelines.
Generate and maintain quality reports and metrics to track QC performance and identify areas for improvement, ensuring alignment with investor guidelines and regulatory and agency guidelines.
Coordinate with various departments throughout the organization for data collection to adequately perform root cause analysis to reduce operational weaknesses
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in mortgage lending, with a focus on quality control or auditing, including knowledge of investor guidelines and regulatory and agency guidelines.
Knowledge of federal and state laws impacting mortgage lending and servicing, including TILA, ECOA, FCRA, RESPA, the Fair Housing Act, the Homeowners Protection Act, and predatory lending laws.
Strong understanding of investor guidelines, regulatory requirements, and industry standards related to mortgage lending.
Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
Proven leadership experience, with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
